Description
The Old Testament proclaims that God reveals Himself in the world for redeeming purposes. God elected Israel to be his people not only to have a living relationship with them, but He also instructed them to be a light for the nations. This missiological thrust of the Old Testament is made clear throughout the Old Testament, especially in the book of Psalms. The psalms of praise make God’s missionary purposes explicit. This paper investigates Psalm 96 as an example of the praise of Israel as an enactment of the gospel.
