Abstract
Dreaming B’yond Boundaries is a fourteen-week curriculum introducing Foresight and Futures Thinking to young people ages 13 – 25 to address a critical gap in conventional education. The curriculum helps participants anticipate and prepare for the future by analyzing trends, exploring uncertainties, and envisioning ambitious alternate possibilities. Concepts such as Positive Youth Development, Growth Mindset, Full Spectrum Thinking, and the Framework Foresight Model informed the curriculum. A systematic approach was employed to gather and analyze existing material to comprehend and synthesize futures literacy, education, and foresight ideas. The questions considered were: How can futuring help individuals dream without limitations about their possible futures with the proper support, and what role can innovation and creativity play in transforming goals into actionable plans? Dreaming B’yond Boundaries highlights the inadequacy of futures planning inside traditional educational systems. The potential transformative capacity will allow youngsters to surmount institutional barriers through futures and foresight concepts, enabling significant contributions to society and improving individual and collective outcomes. The curriculum integrates scenario planning, backcasting, incasting, and design thinking and cultivates critical thinking, adaptability, and a knowledge of social responsibility. Dreaming B’yond Boundaries inspires informed decision-making and strategic foresight. Proactively shaping the future, rather than reacting to it, by identifying opportunities, mitigating risks, and inspiring hope.
