Abstract

This project developed a strategic startup framework for Mended Hearts Personal Care Services, a faith-based personal care agency designed to deliver whole-person care in Cary, Mississippi, and surrounding communities. The project applies principles of strategic leadership to guide organizational design, workforce development, and service delivery in a rural home care setting. Strategic leadership practices guide the development of caregivers and supervisors through structured onboarding, tiered leadership training, and a culture framework based on pride, accountability, commitment, and trust. The model also emphasizes emotional intelligence, ethical leadership, and community partnerships with clinics and churches to strengthen referral networks.
