Abstract
Despite widespread investment in leadership development, the coaching-capable leader remains the exception rather than the rule. This project synthesizes global coaching scholarship to design and deliver an evidence-based Leader-as-Coach workshop for leaders in an essential-services utility context. Central to the design is the premise that sustainable coaching capability requires a shift in leadership identity rather than simply the acquisition of new skills. Nineteen leaders participated, demonstrating measurable shifts in coaching readiness, confidence, and commitment to behavior change. The findings offer a replicable framework for any organization serious about developing leaders who coach.
